National Sea Grant Marina Network
Enhancing the Economic and Environmental Sustainability of the Marina Industry
The marina industry is rapidly becoming a dominant
coastal business. Many Sea Grant programs are interacting with the marina
industry, addressing critical economic and environmental issues facing
marinas, and providing important information to the industry. However,
information exchange among programs historically has been limited.
To make Sea Grant's interaction with this important industry more productive,
the National Sea Grant Marina Network (MarinaNet) is working to create
a system for the efficient transfer of information and experience about
marina operations. The network creates and reinforces connections among
Sea Grant programs, and between Sea Grant and the marina industry, regulatory
agencies, and other marine-related organizations.
